Fusion 56 will be on hiatus from May 27 - September 2, 2012.

Upcoming Fusion 56 Serve Nights

On hiatus - stay tuned for details on upcoming events. Fifth and sixth graders, join us on Wednesday nights for Fusion 56 Serve Nights. We’ll be meeting at the Hangar and working on fun and creative service projects for our community every evening, while we enjoy hanging out together and listening to some great music! Friends are always welcome, and our Serve Nights will occur from 6:30 — 8 p.m.

Communion Instruction Class

All 6th graders and their parents are invited to Communion Instruction Class. Traditionally, the confirmation process occurs in seventh and eighth grade. As a congregation, we have separated communion from confirmation. At Faith Lutheran, students ages sixth grade and up have the opportunity to begin partaking in Holy Communion after attending our Communion Instruction Classes, which will be held in the spring each year.

A parent and the student must attend both sessions together, but in the event the student is unable to attend (e.g. joint custody arrangement), the parent must be present and then share the missed material with their student. You must be present at both sessions in order to successfully complete the instruction. As such, students taking Communion Instruction will need to covenant with Faith that they will enroll in our two year confirmation process.

Confirmation

(7th-8th grade): Faith's confirmation program seeks to engage our youth in active Christian living and to lead our young people to commit to the study of God's Word, regular worship, active prayer, selfless service, and Christian fellowship - for life.

Our confirmation ministry is comprised of gender-based small groups. These groups are led by parents and adults, and they meet regularly over the course of two years. Additional components of confirmation include monthly assignments, annual retreats, and a personal testimony at the end of the second year. Topics covered include understanding the Bible, church, salvation, Lutheran doctrine, and other pertinent subjects. Small groups also plan to carry out social activities and service projects throughout the year.  Youth are still invited to be a part of these middle school small groups, even if they do not plan on being confirmed in the Lutheran Church.
