BWORKS is an umbrella organization housing St. Louis BicycleWORKS, ByteWORKS and BookWORKS located in the Shaw Neighborhood north of Tower Grove Park. Feed My People FMP30: A Fashion Show
FMP30: A Fashion Show celebrates 30 years of service to the community on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church, located at 796 Buckley Road. Proceeds benefit the food pantry and client programs of Feed My People. Tickets for the show and luncheon are $25 each or tables of 10 for $250.
Fashion design sturdents from North and South Tech High Schools will be repurposing items they find in Feed My People stores to create one-of-a-kind fashions to be highlighted on the runway. In addition, select Feed My People clients will be chosen to receive a makeover and this special moment will be featured during the Fashion Show. Each year the Gym serves more than 400 children ages 8 to 18 with athletic, social and educational activities, as well as summer day camps. They also provide nutritious dinners to the children five evenings per week. The Gym is solely supported by individuals, corporations and foundations. Monarch jewelry supports girls rescued from sex trafficking. The jewelry is made by a group of girls (13+) and women compelled to help those victimized by sex trafficking in the St. Louis Metro Region. They produce jewelry products which are sold to raise awareness and funds for two organizations opening Safe Houses in St. Louis. You can help by making jewelry (no experience necessary), donating supplies and/or funds for beads, by praying for the girls entrapped by this cocoon of evil in our own area, and through helping to sell the jewelry.
